We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed.
Perplexed, but not in despair.
Persecuted, but not abandoned by God.
Struck down, but not destroyed.

2 Corinthians 4:8

i never did realise the power of prayer til recently. and now i know - prayer is more than just talking to God, its more than just asking God for A's or for protection and good health. Its a relationship. its a partnership!

our God intended for a partnership and as such he gave man the authority over the world. but man chose to hand that authority over to the enemy.

its just wonderful that the Creator would delight in partnering his creation. and that's where prayer comes into play. its our relationship with God, and its us standing in the gap for the rest of creation who does not have that same relationship with God that we have. its knowing the heart of God that we may pray in accordance to His will.

Because of the partnership that God intended with us, our prayer becomes powerful in that God hears the prayers of his people and answers them. thus making it possible for us to stand in the gap for our unsaved loved ones, to plead on behalf of them for God to show mercy. (considering that God being Holy cannot stand sin, but through our persistent sincere prayers he shows mercy...)

Wow! to think that a God so great would care so much for his creation.

Everytime i think about this, i catch a tiny glimpse of the kind of love He has for us - greater than the love we have for Him... words truly cannot express our Father's love.
