three saving questions

i was on the way home on the MRT and i saw this lady with a tattoo on her upper back... thn i rmbred the newspaper article on how more and more ppl are getting tattoos.
now being a christian, i wouldn't wanna get a tattoo cos my body is the temple of the holy spirit. but then the sight of her's got me thinking - you know what if someone got a tattoo that read - "I love God" or lyk "God loves you", or "Jesus Saves"
lyk is tt alrite...? thn i realised tt it ain't rite.
firstly if God wanted us to have smth lyk "Jesus saves" on us to mark us as christians thn wouldn't he have made man with a phrase as such lyk man being born with it already??
but more than that our bodies are the temple of the holy spirit and thus we take care of our bodies, we don't smoke, do drugs cos it just damages the body that was given to us (cos we gotta be good stewards too. yea.. ) so if i get a tattoo it basically means that im hurting my body. "two wrongs don't make it right"
there are so many other ways in which a christian can impact the world that would not cause him to desecrate his body.
well then, i recalled smth my mum told me a while back that in all that we do we shld ask our selves three main questions
1. Does it please God?
2. Is it beneficial to us?
3. Will I cause someone to stumble by my actions?
if an answer to any one of these was no, then we shld tink again abt our actions.
so for example getting a tattoo that says "God Loves You"
- it does not please God (desecrating our bodies)
- it does not benefit me -- its painful, infections can occur etc.
- yes it stumbles a brother -- he may tink that getting tattoos is alrite which is NOT!
i urge you to rmbr these three questions, they've helped me alot in my walk with God especially when it comes to making decisions and i believe that it would help you too..
